Độc Lập Cemetery
Đoc Lap Cemetery is located in Thanh Nua Commune, Đien Bien District, Đien Bien Province. The Cemetery was built from 1957 to 1958 with an area of 3.3 hectares. 
 
 
 
This is a large-scale cemetery with 152 plots and 2,432 brick graves. Each gravestone is attached with a star and a small flower vase sponsored by Viettel Corporation. At the furthermost of the cemetery, there are an incense burner and a memorial of 15m high.
 
 
 
 

It has been more than 60 years since the war finished. However, the memories of Đien Bien severe battle with the courage and sacrifice of soldiers still remain in the heart of every Vietnamese as well as friends in the world. Thousands of brave combatants have sacrified for the nation and lied down permanently. All visitors to Đien Bien wish to visit the martyrs' cemetery to show gratitude to heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the peace of the country.

D1 Hill Relics (Điện Biên Phủ Victory monument)

D1 hill belongs to Dominique cluster. It is one of the five hills in the east, forming a solid shield to protect the center of Đien Bien Phu basement. The French colonialists used this fort and two other hills, D2 and D3 as the front denfene in the east. The 2nd attack by the soldiers of the 209th Regiment in 312th company of the Vietnam People's Army to the Đien Bien Phu basement was aimed at D1 hill.
