Mường Phăng – The headquarters of Điện Biên campaign
In this place, it has a tunnel through the mountain, where General Võ Nguyên Giáp still often works and rests in the campaign marking the turning point of Vietnamese history.
D1 Hill Relics - Điện Biên Phủ Victory monument
It is one of the five hills in the east, forming a solid shield to protect the center of Đien Bien Phu basement. The French colonialists used this fort and two other hills, D2 and D3 as the front denfine in the east. The 2nd attack by the soldiers of the 209th Regiment in 312th company of the Vietnam People's Army to the Đien Bien Phu basement was aimed at D1 hill.
Bản Phủ citadel and Hoàng Công Chất Temple
Bản Phủ citadel was built by Hoàng Công Chất army and ethnic peoples from 1758 to 1762. This military work is made of soil. There are gates and observatories in the east – the west – the south and the north.
Điện Biên Phủ Martyrs' Cemetery
The Điện Biên Phủ Martyrs' Cemetery was built in 1958 to gather 644 graves of heroic soldiers in the Điện Biên Phủ campaign. Most of them are anonymous graves
Him Lam Cemetery
Him Lam cemetery is located at Him Lam district in Đien Bien Phu city with an area of 1.7 hectares. It was set up from 1957-1960 and upgraded in 1995 with 689 martyrs
Độc Lập Cemetery
This is a large-scale cemetery with 152 plots and 2,432 brick graves. Each gravestone is attached with a star and a small flower vase sponsored by Viettel Corporation. At the furthermost of the cemetery, there are an incense burner and a memorial of 15m high
Tông Khao Cemetery
The Vietnamese martyrs sacrificed on the battlefields of northern Laos in the 316th, 308th company, the 82nd regiment, civilian, youth volunteers and in the Vietnam war were gathered in the same cemetery
